Vic Sotto says he still believes in marriage

Chuck Smith - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Despite the numerous romantic entanglements he’s experienced in the past, Vic Sotto reveals he still believes in marriage.

“Kaya naman tayo nakikipag-ibigan dahil ang gusto mong dulong puntahan ay yung to settle down,” he said in an interview with ABS-CBN’s showbiz talk show “Buzz ng Bayan” aired Sunday, December 22.

He added, “At the end of the day, pagdating ng gabi, uuwi ka ng pagod, iba rin siguro yung may kasama ka.”

Unlike the previous months, Vic and girlfriend Pauleen Luna have opened up about their relationship recently. In an interview with ABS-CBN’s late night news cast “Bandila” on December 13, co-anchor Boy Anchor asked Vic: “Kung bubuksan ko ang iyong puso ngayon, anong pangalan ng babae ang nakasulat?” Coy at first, the comedian answered, “Sagutin ko na rin: Pauleen.”

But asked if he’s a father or a lover first, Vic said: “Father, of course.”

“It’s always been my priority,” the 59-year-old comedian explained. “I owe them a lot. I only try to be a good father but I am not the perfect father, kasi most of them grew up with me not being around all the time. But I see to it na kahit papaano, kahit konting oras basta may quality, okay na."

The "Vampire ang Daddy Ko" star currently has four children with three different women.

Future superstars

Vic is part of the 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival entry, “My Little Bossings,” which also stars Kris Aquino and child stars Ryzza Mae Dizon and James “Bimby” Yap Jr.

He describes Ryzza as “talented” and “just so charming,” while Bimby is “cute, adorable” and “mabait na bata, may tendency lang na i-spoil ni Kris.”

Vic’s films in the annual year-ender film festival have always done well in the box-office. Is he gunning for the top this year for “My Little Bossings”?

“I’m not thinking of myself for this film. I’m thinking of Bimby and Ryzza,” he said. “I believe that they are future superstars of the industry.”

As for his Enteng Kabisote movie series — a franchise that stemmed from the comedy-fantasy series “Okay Ka, Fairy Ko!” during the 80s and 90 — Vic said it will still make a comeback. All seven films from the said franchise were part of the MMFF from 2005.

“Lahat tayo nagbu-burn out. Napapagod din naman si Enteng,” he said. “Ang dami na siguro ng nakalaban niya. Nagpapahinga lang yun. I’m sure he will be back.”
