An all-natural hair care line

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Not all hair that is soft and shiny is healthy. The artificial sheen and silkiness of its strands could be hiding dandruff, brittleness and tiny bald patches brought about by chemicals when used daily.

Filipino neurosurgeon Dr. Rainier Villanueva, who developed the all-natural Lauat hair and scalp care line, explains: “Chemical-based shampoos, conditioners, dyes, tonics used on hair often are major causes of hair fall.” Hair falls and dandruffs set in when too much is not enough, he adds.

Lauat comes from a combination of three indigenous plant extracts, such as lawat (Litsea glutinosa), gugo (Entada phaseoloides) and virgin coconut oil or VCO (Cocos nuciferas).

Gugo with oxygen and nutrients increases microcirculation in scalp that can prevent hair fall and enhances regrowth. Lawat containing fatty acids that the body needs and does not produce naturally, nourishes the scalp to revitalize hair from hair follicles, sebaceous glands to the tips. VCO that is easily absorbable carries lawat and gugo to the follicles to moisturize hair and scalp, unlike artificial conditioners which are greasy.

Cambert claims Lauat has clinical tests to prove its efficacy. “When used for one week, there will be hair improvement,” Philippine Dermatological Society’s  Dr. Marielle Favorito reports, “and 89 percent after four weeks of use.”
