‘A lesson learned’—Anne Curtis apologizes over ‘unfortunate’ club incident

Chuck Smith - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Anne Curtis took to social media to apologize for her behavior in a club recently, which allegedly include slapping actor John Lloyd Cruz and berating model-host Phoemela Barranda.

This was after entertainment news site Philippine Entertainment Portal reported on Sunday, December 1 that the Kapamilya actress had an incident last November 23 with some of the guests—which include JR Isaac, Phoemela and John Lloyd—of a luxury club in Taguig City.

Isaac told the said news site that he and his friends were at the bar of the club when a drunk Anne, who was at the venue for the bachelorette party of a friend, came out of the restroom and confronted their group.

The editor-events creative consultant further told Philippine Entertainment Portal that she slapped him, John Lloyd, and another friend. She also allegedly shouted at John Lloyd, saying “You are an addict!” To Phoemela, she reportedly said: “'I can buy you, your friends, and this club!”

The report said, however, that Anne apologized to Isaac via text message hours after the incident.

A few hours after the story came out, the 28-year-old actress turned to her official Twitter account to release her statement about the issue.

‘I’ll charge it to experience’

In the statement, Anne said confirmed most of what was written about the incident is true.

The “It’s Showtime” co-host admitted she “one too many drinks” and revealed she “had been on the super popular juice cleanse for three days” before the incident.

Anne ended her statement: “I'm sorry if I let any of my fans down.... As you all see, I'm just like any other person that makes mistakes in life...”

“Thank you to everyone that has messaged me about their support. With where I am today I owe all of you my honesty.”
