Nikki wins very first acting award

MANILA, Philippines - Nikki Gil bagged the award for Best Single Performance by an Actress in the recently-concluded 27th PMPC Star Awards for TV held last Nov. 24 at the AFP Theater in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

It was her performance in Maalaala Mo Kaya’s June 22 episode, titled Ilog, which earned her the nomination. At the time of its airing, the Ilog episode also made history as MMK’s highest-rating episode, which also trended at No. 10 in the Philippines.

Earlier this year, Nikki also earned critical acclaim for her short but intense performance in Apoy Sa Dagat.

Nikki bested her other competitors in the same category, including Ai-Ai delas Alas, Iza Calzado, Boots Anson-Roa and Nora Aunor.
