Dragon boat fest set

MANILA, Philippines - The first Tanauan City Dragon Boat Festival opens today at the Barangay Wawa-Boot, Tanauan City. It is the first dragon boat race to be held in Taal Lake. There are already 23 teams under the Philippine Canoe Kayak Foundation joining the event, which is spearheaded by Mayor Thony Halili and the Sports Development head Tato Dimayuga.

The two-day Dragon Boat Fest aims to promote water sports tourism in the city. Highlights of the festival are the following: Tonight — free concert at 7; Nov. 23 — Balsa Race at 6 a.m. and Dragon Boat Race at 7 a.m.
