MANILA, Philippines- It was one night filled with laughter, memories and of course songs as Lani Misalucha entertained with her show dubbed “Queen of the Night.”

The Asia’s Nightingale performed Wednesday night at Solaire Resort and Casino for a benefit concert for the victims of typhoon Yolanda. Part of the proceeds of the show will go to the relief operations in Visayas.

The night of songs was kicked off by the “X-Factor” finalist Daddy’s Home, which is composed of Dr. Eric Dacanay, Herbert Silonga, Jerome Icatar, and Allan Mitchell Silonga.

They performed songs from the 80s and 90s like “I’ll Make Love to You” and “End of the Road” by Boyz II Men, “Tell Me” by Side A, “Himala” by Rivermaya, and “Sana Maulit Muli” by Gary V.

Since the concert is for the Yolanda victims, the group also dedicated a song for them titled “Paraiso.”

As Lani Misalucha graced the stage, she opened the night with her performance of “Starting Over” and a mashup of the songs “Raise Your Glass” and “Dyanmite.”

As she was welcoming everybody at the show, Lani made a slight mistake as she said “welcome to Resorts World Manila” instead of “Solaire Resort and Casino” which made everyone laugh.

She laughed and then said, “naku sorry, minus five!” and redeemed herself several times in the show as she keept promoting and thanking Solaire.

But then she of course thanked everyone in the show because “ang inyo pong presensya ngayong gabing ito ay nangangahulugang nakatulong kayo.”

She then proceeded with the show and performed more songs like “You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me,” Angel of the Night,” and “Promises, Promises.”

Lani left the stage for a while to change her costume, and went back performing the song “Queen of the Night” with the dance group Hot Legs.

She also had a little interaction with the crowd as she sang the song “Loving You.” She challenged the audience to sing the high pitch part of the song, which made Lani and the audience laugh.

She also chose that night to announce to everyone that next year “I’m gonna be a grandmother, not only a grandmother, but a sexy grandmother!”

Then she reminded the audience to value the people they love, and before she started performing the song “If I Ain’t Got You,” Lani was emotional and almost in tears.

Lani  also performed the classical song “Ave Maria,” which was taught to her by her father.

Everyone was in awe as she belted out the song, and some even stood up in appreciation of her performance.

Of course as this show is for Yolanda victims, she dedicated to them her original single “Tila,” and reminded the victims that “habang may buhay, may pag-asa.”

She ended the night with a mashup of the songs from three of her favorite artists namely Michael  Jackson, Whitney Houston, and Donna Summers.

But the crowd chanted “more” and twice she gave in to their request and performed “Bukas na Lang Kita Mamahalin,” “Dancing Queen,” and “Thank You for the Music.”
