‘Maleficent’ trailer released
MANILA, Philippines- Angelina Jolie is to portray a villainess in her upcoming film “Maleficent.â€
Maleficent is the villainess in the Disney fairytale “Sleeping Beauty,†which is about the story of Princess Aurora— portrayed by Elle Fanning in the movie—who slept for a hundred years after Maleficent cursed her.
The film, directed by Robert Stromberg, will tell the story of Maleficent’s world, her past and why she cursed Aurora.
The film aims to understand what hardened Maleficent’s heart toward the kingdom of King Estefan, and what would lead her to forgive those who have hurt her and what she loves and values.
Besides Angelina playing a villainess role in the film, the public is also excited about the appearance of Vivienne Jolie-Pitt— Angelina and Brad Pitt’s child—who plays young Aurora.
The film's cast includes Sam Riley, Miranda Richardson, Sharlto Copley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville.
“Maleficent†is set to hit the theaters on May 30, 2014.
