The Gutierrezes in reality TV
The best-kept “public secret†these past few days was what the Gutierrezes were up to, spawned by an invitation to a presscon yesterday in which an important announcement would be made. Hmmm, was Richard Gutierrez finally ready to tell the whole truth and nothing but about him and his girlfriend Sarah Lahbati, and “the newest member†they have been rumored to have contributed to the family that Ruffa had hinted at (slip of the tongue)?
The family PR man, Jun Lalin was pestered by his colleagues what the “secret†was but he famously kept his mouth shut (“as orderedâ€â€¦or else?). The cat, so to speak, was finally let out yesterday.
Yes, the Gutierrezes are doing a Kardashian (you know, Keeping Up With The Kardashians) in a show called It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez to be presented by Inside Showbiz, with One Mega Group’s 100 TV and the Gutierrez-family-owned Royal Era. It’s the first-ever locally-produced family reality show set for airing early 2014.
Meet the “Gutz-y†Gutierrez: Parents Eddie and Annabelle; children Ruffa, Richard, Raymond, Rocky, Elvis and Ritchie Paul; and grandchildren Lorin Bektas and Venice Bektas.
On a family journey to Singapore and Malaysia, they will be shown as they are (kaya nga “reality†TV, eh!) — their drama, their joys and laughter, their tears and whatever else happens during a family vacation.
“For the first time, the family allowed cameras to chronicle their lives, and they only trusted TV 100,†said Mike Carandang, Head of TV 100.
According to Ruffa, “For quite some time, people have been asking us when we are going to do a family reality show. And now is the perfect time to do it with TV 100 of One Mega Group. We share so many things in common that we cannot let pass the opportunity. We believe that this partnership will be a successful one.â€
