Quality over quantity for Alessandra de Rossi in doing films

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Alessandra de Rossi is one of the multi-awarded young celebrities of this generation.

Proof to this are her numerous awards from different award-giving bodies, including an international award from ASEAN International Film Festival and Awards for the film “Sta. Nina.”

Some may think that because of these awards, Alessandra is now choosy with the projects that she accepts. But then, she reveals that even she before got hold of these awards, she’s very careful with the projects she accepts.

“Medyo choosy talaga ako,” she frankly admits in an interview Monday night. “Kasi siyempre iniisip ko one day magiging memory na lang ako, siyempre gusto ko kapag na-search ang pangalan ko magaganda naman ang pelikula ko di ba? Hindi pwede sa akin yung, ‘Gawin natin ‘to. Puwede na yan for the sake na may pelikula ka,’ no.”

Aside from the quality of the film’s story, there are other factors Alessandra considers before accepting a certain project, which noticeably consists of mostly independent films.

Since indie films are not “formula base,” she enjoys the artist’s freedom and ”yung experience, yung alam mong mag-e-enjoy ka, sa co-actors alam mong may matututunan ka.”

Though she’s undeniably a versatile actress, there are certain genres of films that Alessandra is hesitant to do like horror or those that have love scenes.

Meanwhile, Alessandra stars in a Cinema One Originals Plus film entry titled “Woman of the Ruins,” which is directed by Keith Sicat.
