Bluebird of Happiness at Meralco Theater

MANILA, Philippines - A true Christmas story, the show has everything that makes the holiday magical. From producer and director Jaime del Mundo and composer Rony Fortich comes an original Filipino musical adaptation of Maurice Maeterlinck’s The Blue Bird.

Trumpets’ The Bluebird of Happiness follows two downcast children, Mytyl (Alessa Zialcita) and Tyltyl (Guido Gatmaytan), on their journey to find happiness. Without a Christmas tree or presents, the children become embittered. They are then sent on a quest by the fairy Berylune to search for the Bluebird of Happiness. Chasing their Christmas wishes, Mytyl and Tyltyl set off on a magical adventure to catch the mysterious Bluebird. Traveling across different lands, the past, the future and the present, the children discover how Christmas can be more. As Mytyl and Tyltyl realize the true meaning of happiness, their story holds a mirror to the modern times and what it means to be happy this coming Christmas.

The Bluebird of Happiness runs until today at Meralco Theater.
