#RememberingCory trends as Glee pays tribute to Monteith
MANILA, Philippines- #RememberingCory trended on Twitter as the American series “Glee†paid tribute to Cory Monteith on its October 10 episode.
The original cast of the show namely Lea Michele, Amber Riley, Chris Colfer, Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushowitz, Mark Salling, Quinn Fabray, Naya Rivera, and Heather Morris were all present during the episode.
The show didn’t directly tackle what caused Finn’s death, but focused on the three weeks after the funeral of Cory’s character, Finn.
Each of the original cast members was tasked to choose a song which reminds them of Finn.
It was an emotional performance for the Glee cast and the most anticipated was the performance of the late actor's real life sweetheart Lea Michele, who sang a cover of Bob Marley’s song “Make You Feel My Love.â€
Most of the viewers thought that it was not Rachel Berry, Lea’s character, who is singing but Lea herself. This was because of the raw emotion she showed as she performed the song.
Even before she started singing, she was already in tears which eventually made each of the cast cry as well.
Monteith died July 13 this year, and according to the official autopsy report, toxic combination of heroin and alcohol was the cause of his death.
