Bong says goodbye to Ka Eduardo Manalo role in Sugo

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Because of the trying times, Sen. Bong Revilla deems it wise to quit playing Ka Eduardo Manalo in Sugo, the biopic of the founder of Iglesia Ni Cristo which is slated for showing next year to mark the 100th anniversary of INC.

Bong was quoted by friends as saying that he doesn’t fit the bill anymore, so he politely let go of the coveted role.

‘He told the INC leadership that he didn’t want to drag them into the current controversy he finds himself in,’ said the Funfare informer.

INC  is said to understand Bong’s feelings and decision, and that whatever happens the friendship between INC and Bong will never be affected.

It’s not yet known who will replace Bong. Two other actors (unidentified) will play specific periods in Ka Eddie’s life.

Meanwhile, Funfare learned that Cesar Montano has been tapped to direct Sugo, in place of the director first chosen for the job.
