Musikgarten opens Musical Playground

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Musikgarten Manila recently opened the country’s first Musical Playground where babies and toddlers pass time learning the sounds of musical instruments in a playhouse setting.

The Musical Playground finds its first home at Robinsons Galleria along EDSA corner Ortigas Ave., in Quezon City.

It is now a destination for educational tours by preschools, as Musikgarten Manila offers new musical instruments fit for the toddlers and the very young.

Michelle Junia, owner of Musikgarten Manila, said that the Musical Playground provides the very young an alternative place to enjoy their stay in the malls.

“Playhouses are attractions in malls and toddlers have great fun in these places,” Michelle said, adding that playhouses in malls today offer colors as attraction to kids.

Musikgarten Manila is now three years old in the Philippines, moving to the big malls, starting at Robinsons Galleria, to make it more accessible to the Filipino family. It has over 10 school partners in Metro Manila and Cebu City and franchise branches in Baguio City and in San Pedro, Laguna.

Junia, a music scholar since 10 years old and a cum laude graduate of the UST Conservatory of Music major in voice, trained in the USA and brought the Musikgarten program to the Philippines.

She is also a vocal coach, being the only Filipino to train under Seth Riggs, Hollywood’s top vocal coach being the mentor to some of the world’s best performers like Michael Jackson, Barbra Streisand, Kelly Clarkson and many others.
