Wrestling superstars defend titles at the WWE Night of Champions on SKYcable
MANILA, Philippines - Hard-hitting and body-slamming matches are coming your way this month as SKYcable brings you the biggest gathering of the best wrestlers in sports entertainment. Superstars and legends are coming out to shine at WWE’s Night of Champions on Sept. 16 at 7 a.m., live and commercial-free on SKYcable Pay-Per-View.
Emotions are expected to rise with CM Punk once again seeking to satisfy his obsession of getting his hands on his former manager after being beaten down by Brock Lesnar in the last pay-per-view event. In his second shot at revenge, things are not exactly in his favor as he faces the Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel and Paul Heyman himself in a two-on-one handicap elimination match. However, expect Punk to pull out all the stops to eliminate Axel and finally have Heyman alone in the squared-circle.
Another event that will highlight the night is the biggest match of Rob Van Dam, since his comeback, when he faces Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship. With no bad blood in the past, wrestling fans are still expecting a very personal battle with Del Rio’s former ring announcer, Ricardo Rodriguez, now on RVD’s side after he was assaulted by Del Rio last month in SmackDown.
At the spotlight of the Night of Champions is the much-anticipated battle between Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan for the prized WWE Championship and the right to be named the face of the company. Since winning his seventh WWE title in a controversial manner with the aid of Triple H last SummerSlam, Orton has garnered the full support of the McMahon family and has been crowned the new face of the company. Despite facing a tough battle against Orton and the powerful first family, Bryan refuses to go down and is inspired to regain his title, which he lost only minutes after winning it in a tough match against John Cena.
