Sexy Talk with Dion Ignacio

His time has finally come.

“It’s worth the long wait,” said Dion Ignacio who has been described as a “now-you-see-him-now-you-don’t” actor because, since he was launched as an Avenger in the StarStruck Batch 1 won by Mark Herras and Jennylyn Mercado, he would appear on the scene and disappear posthaste.

Now, you see him more often and he seems to stay active for good, finally cast in interesting roles in Kapuso soaps. After playing the male lead in Magdalena, he’s now seen in the OFW-themed afternoon soap Maghihintay Pa Rin in which he plays Orlando, a good friend of Kiko (Rafael Rosell) who secretly admires his (Kiko’s) girlfriend Geneva (Bianca King). When Kiko gets jailed in Singapore, Orlando sees a chance to pursue Geneva.

His discoverer, movie writer Leo Bukas, is happy at the turn of Dion’s career.

“I met Dion 10 years ago in Pakil, Laguna, where my reporter-friends and I spent the Holy Week there,” recalled Leo. “He was in high school then in Siniloan, his hometown also in Laguna. Sobrang payat niya at maraming pimples. Pina-derma ko siya, pina-brace at pinataba. He stayed with me for two years and for a long while, he was eating Chicken Joy every day. He came from a humble family and they couldn’t afford it. He has improved a lot. I’m happy for him.”

And Dion has become sexier, too.
