Two Pinays also winners
MANILA, Philippines - Two Filipina beauties brought pride to the country in the recent Mrs. Asia International 2013 held in Kuala Lumpur. Medical technician Stephanie Malibiran (left) was crowned Mrs. Asia International Tourism while Lubesly Tellidua (right), a businesswoman, placed first runner up in the pageant.
Malibiran and Tellidua were former winners of Mrs. Philippines-Globe 2012, which picked them as the country’s representatives to Mrs. Asia International.
Malibiran is a 30-year old hands-on mom. She worked as a researcher for the Tropical Disease Foundation at the Makati Medical Center. A wife to a general surgeon, Malibiran won the Most Beautiful Face title in Mrs. Philippines-Globe 2012.
Tellidua, meanwhile, was among the Top 10 finalists of Mrs. Philippines-Globe 2013. The 33-year old beauty from Cebu is a single mom of three children. A licensed special education teacher, she holds classes for underprivileged children for free.
“These victories show that we should not downplay the roles women play as a wife, partner, mother and significant things they can do to contribute in our society,†said Morena Carla Cabrera-Quimpo, Mrs. Philippines-Globe pageant director.
