GMA wins top honors at the VACC Awards

MANILA, Philippines - GMA Network won a total of seven accolades, including two Hall of Fame citations, at the VACC (Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption) Awards held last Aug. 2, at Camp Crame in Quezon City.

This year, GMA Channel 7 was inducted to the organization’s Hall of Fame for winning the Outstanding Television Station award for several years. Similarly, DZBB 594 khz, the Network’s flagship radio station, was also recognized as a Hall of Fame awardee for the Outstanding Radio Station category.

Jiggy Manicad was named Outstanding Television Anchor for his work on GMA News TV’s late afternoon newscast Quick Response Team. John Consulta bested several others for the Outstanding Television News Reporter award.

Jessica Soho’s primetime newscast State of the Nation on GMA News TV and Mike Enriquez’s hard-hitting investigative program Imbestigador, were also cited for the Television Program category. DZBB’s senior reporter Rowena Salvacion, in turn, was given a special award under the Radio Reporter category.
