‘Alien squid invasion’ in Wild Case Files

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Tonight’s episode of Wild Case Files, a voracious monster of the deep has invaded the Californian coast, eating anything in its path. The culprit: The fierce Humboldt squid â€” weighing as much as 50 kgs. and reaching lengths of up to two meters. But where have these creatures come from and will they stay? A top team of marine biologists join forces to try and solve the mystery before these “red devils” from the deep destroy California’s fishing industry.

In the town of Pinnaroo in Australia, hundreds of thousands of mice invade a family wheat farm and piggery. Like a scene from a horror movie, the rodents are everywhere, making life in the farm house impossible. Scientists investigate what triggers the infestations, why they happen and what can be done to stop the ravenous rodents from returning.

In Kenya, more than one million wildebeest are on their spectacular annual migration.

First aired on the National Geographic Channel, Wild Case Files unravels the mysteries behind some of nature’s strangest cases.

Dubbed in Filipino, Wild Case Files airs tonight at 10:40 after Born to Reign on GMA News TV Channel 11.
