Retro Party at Robinsons Place Manila

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Reminisce the Coco Banana era, the disco place in the ’70s, when Robinsons Place Manila, located in the heart of Ermita, goes “retro” every Thursday starting July 18.

Aptly dubbed as Retro Party, the weekly show will feature dance bands that will be playing popular hits from the ’70s till the early ’80s. Entrance to the venue, the Midtown Atrium is free, on a first come, first serve basis. Shows will start at 6 p.m. and will run until 7 p.m.

“We see the Retro Party as reason for our shoppers to unwind in a different way —reliving their younger years through music and dance of their era. Those dining at the nearby restos can also enjoy listening the bands renditions,” says Dollie Bufi, regional operations manager for Robinsons Place Manila. On opening night, July 18, Spirit of  ’67 will take center stage and play an extensive repertoire of dance music that spans the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s. “We’re bringing new and fresh experience for our shoppers and mallers to enjoy. As a matter of fact, we will be encouraging the shoppers to dance with band,” adds Bufi. We promise to bring more popular bands in the succeeding Thursdays. Watch out for performances from Bloomfieds and Retrospect dance bands.”

Spirit of  ’67 returns on Aug. 1 in time for mall-wide Red Hot Sale which will run until Aug. 31. For details, call 310-3333 or 0932-8472576.
