GMA Life TV marks fifth year with Kapuso VJs

MANILA, Philippines - In 2008, GMA International, the business unit that manages the distribution and operations of the international channels of GMA Network, pioneered the existence of the first ever international Filipino lifestyle channel via GMA Life TV bearing one goal in mind: To celebrate the best in Pinoy lifestyle.

Five years have gone by and GMA Life TV continues to live by this mantra — inspiring millions of Filipinos abroad to embrace and be proud of their unique heritage through aspirational, encouraging and life-changing programs shown on the channel.

At present, GMA Life TV offers a vibrant combination of program genres ranging from drama, fashion, travel, food, health and even sports.

The channel has attracted over one million viewers from over 90 countries such as the US, Canada, Hong Kong, Guam, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, UAE and Madagascar, and is set to enlarge its presence in even more territories this year.

“GMA Life TV complements the existence of our other two international channels namely GMA Pinoy TV and GMA News TV International by catering to the distinct set of needs of Filipinos abroad. Particularly, these are viewers who want to build a closer connection to their Filipino roots or to simply seek a more inspirational or even aspirational kind of programming,” said GMA VP and head of International Operations Joseph Francia.

In celebration of its fifth year of bringing various, meaningful and informative programs to Filipinos overseas, GMA International is launching its fifth Anniversary campaign — GMA Life TV: Fly High @ Five — that features six of the most promising Kapuso stars.

Alden Richards, Mikael Daez, Rocco Nacino, Maxene Magalona, Bela Padilla and Louise Delos Reyes were handpicked by GMA International to be the GMA Life TV VJs, who are assigned to provide fun and captivating introductions for the programs beginning May 1.

“This bunch of GMA artists embodies the best qualities of GMA Life TV — hip, fun, engaging, original and having a great zest for life,” said Francia.
