MANILA, Philippines - At 65, Lolo Robert (not his real name) still prostitutes his body. And at his age, Lolo Robert never runs out of customers and is still in demand when he prowls the old motels and cinema houses in Recto.

A native of Bicol, Lolo Robert went to Manila to seek his fortune but unfortunately, he ended up in the sex trade. But it was also through this job that he met a wealthy customer who loved him and treated him like family. But despite this comfort, it seems Lolo Robert couldn’t let go of his old ways.

Mommy Rose, on the other hand, at 58, still couldn’t see herself retiring from being both a pimp and a prostitute. She grew up among nuns but this did not stop her from venturing into the flesh trade. She once worked as a singer and dancer in Osaka, Japan to support the studies of her only child. When she returned to the Philippines, she served her live-in partner but when they separated, she went back to the same, dark path.
