Done deal!

Yes, weeks before they got married (yes, they really did!) in Las Vegas (where quickie marriages and quickie divorces are as easy as losing in slot machines), Ai-Ai delas Alas and Jed Salang (photo) had a pre-nuptial agreement signed. They must have learned how messy it is to divide properties if and when (knock on wood!), what with all the legal maze separating couples have to suffer through and the ugly media word war they have to wage. I guess Ai-Ai has picked up a tip or two from Kris Aquino, her BFF.

Just back home, Ai-Ai and Jed are getting married in church on Dec. 8. But I wonder, is their Las Vegas marriage recognized by Philippine laws? If not, do they have to wed civilly again here before they could get married in church?

If ever, the “expectant” 48-year-old Ai-Ai shall have given birth before she marched down the aisle.

Pinoy actor signs up with A-list Hollywood agent

BREAKING NEWS: Jake Macapagal, star of Sundance award-winning movie Metro Manila, has received an offer of representation from ICM Partners, a Hollywood-based talent management.

A veteran of theater and indies, Jake did an emotionally-wrenching performance as Oscar Ramirez in Metro Manila, earning the acclaim of critics, audiences and industry insiders throughout the festival.

For Jake, the attention from Hollywood has proven to be a welcome and novel experience.

“Attracting an agent in a festival is a daunting experience,” admitted Jake. “They find you. Most agents won’t reveal whom they represent, and if they do, the clientele is subject to change without notice. In the meantime, I have to develop and understand agent/client relationship. It’s new to me. At least, I know they like me, it’s also about whether they get you meetings with casting directors and auditions, that’s all that matters in the end, the rest is up to you and how good you are in the room.”

Jake began acting at the age of nine, performing on stage for the Ateneo Children’s Theater, and later local and international productions like Miss Saigon, Victor Victoria, Next to Normal and Rent, to name a few. He is currently taking the ABS-CBN Teachers Training Program under Rahyan Carlos using the Ivana Chubbuck Technique from L.A. Later this month, he starts his fourth year as a Teacher for the Star Magic Workshops.

Jake is represented by ICM agent Justin Deanda, and joins the ranks of other ICM clients such as Oscar winners Christopher Waltz, Jodie Foster, Al Pacino and Samuel L. Jackson.
