Binibinis on ABS tonight

MANILA, Philippines - Get to know more of the 50 Binibining Pilipinas 2013 candidates as beauty queens Venus Raj, Shamcey Supsup and Janine Tugonon deliver the pageant’s primer titled The Golden Road to the Crown on ABS-CBN’s Sunday’s Best, which airs tonight at 9:45.

The Golden Road to the Crown shares the candidates’ unique personalities and touching life stories in exclusive interviews. It also features the activities and workshops they underwent to further enhance their skills. Among the personalities who mentored them are the 1992 Binibining Pilipinas-Maja International Marina Benipayo, who gave them personality development training, and veteran broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez, who trained them for the question-and-answer portion.

Also, take a glance at The Queens’ Exclusive Reunion Party, wherein Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI), led by its chairperson Madame Stella Marquez Araneta, gathered past and current titleholders in a tea party as part of celebrating 50 beautiful years of Binibining Pilipinas.

Madame Stella, herself a Miss International titleholder (1960), opened the gates of her private residence in Bahay na Puti, Quezon City to welcome the beauty queens through the years.

Among those who graced the event were Gloria Diaz, Miss Universe 1969; Aurora Pijuan, Miss International 1970; Ruffa Gutierrez, Miss World 1993 second princess; Miriam Quiambao, Miss Universe 1999 first runner-up; Precious Lara Quigaman, Miss International 2005; Ms. Venus Raj, Miss Universe 2010 fourth runner-up; and Shamcey Supsup, Miss Universe 2011 third runner-up.

Also at the event were the reigning queens Janine Mari Tugonon, Miss Universe 2012 first runner-up; Nicole Schmitz, Miss International 2012 semifinalist; Katrina Jayne Dimaranan, Binibining Pilipinas-Tourism 2012; Elaine Kay Moll, Miss Supranational 2012 third runner-up; and Annalie Forbes, Binibining Pilipinas 2012 second runner-up.

The new winners of Binibining Pilipinas’ prestigious and coveted titles will be revealed on April 14 during the grand coronation night which promises a glittering production worthy of its 50th-year celebration. It will be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum and aired live on ABS-CBN.
