Robin in-demand endorser
MANILA, Philippines -Robin Padilla is certainly one of the most sought-after male celebrity endorsers today. Companies, ranging from food to food supplements, motorcycles to paints, have chosen Robin to be their brand ambassador.
Kenji Andal, corporate planner of Herbs and Nature (Liveraide), explains the Robin Padilla magic, “It’s because he is the remaining action star in the Philippines today.â€
Liveraide has had a very fruitful relationship with Robin and the partnership between the two has been going strong for five years now. “He has helped boost our sales. Having Robin has been very profitable for us. That is why we got him again,†adds Andal.
He cites Robin’s successful transformation from Philippine cinema’s so-called “bad boy†to all-around “good boy†is a perfect fit with Liveraide and the healthy lifestyle change that the brand promotes.
Aside from Liveraide, Robin has also renewed his contract with Cord Marine Epoxy, a brand of protective paint. “Robin represents our brand because people from all walks of life identify with him. Consumers listen when he says something,†says Cord Marine Epoxy brand manager Dennis Abanid about the star who has been their endorser for two years now.
For years, the name Kawasaki was simply associated with tricycles. When the Japanese motorcycle brand got Robin’s services as endorser in 2010, Kawasaki Philippines’ image was elevated and it became known as premiere motorcycle for both business and leisure — one that is durable, tough and reliable.
“He breathes life into our brand,†says Teench Layosa-Doval Santos, Kawasaki senior manager for Sales and Marketing.
In the coming weeks and months, Robin will be shooting new TV commercials and gracing the events and conventions of products/companies that he endorses.
Incidentally, Robin also stars in a new TVC with Cristine Reyes for another brand the actor endorsers, 555 Tuna.
“As one of the country’s most popular action stars, Robin clearly has the physical strength that everyone aspires to have, while Cristine has a fit and healthy body that people admire. Together, they possess the qualities that 555 Tuna promotes,†says Century Canning Corp. VP and GM Greg Banzon.
So grateful for the honor of being a sought-after endorser, Robin wants to return the trust by working hard and keeping a good image. “Malaking karangalan ang mapili bilang endorser ng iba’t-ibang produkto,†says Robin. “Makakaasa ang mga advertiser ko at ang mga tao na mas lalo ko pang pangangalagaan ang tiwalang binibigay nila. Hindi ko sila bibiguin.â€
