Kathniel gets advice on loveteam

Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo were on the hot seat when they recently guested on The Buzz to promote their Star Cinema movie Must Be… Love. There is a persistent rumor that they are now an official couple since Dec. 26 last year. They have, according to the rumor mill, chosen the date because March 26 is Kathryn’s birthday while Daniel’s is on April 26. There were also photos and videos of unguarded moments, which insinuate that there’s something more between the teen stars.

Daniel and Kathryn vehemently denied the issue. “No. I swear to God, no. Hindi, hindi pa talaga. Hindi po,” Daniel clarified.

Kathniel may not be an official couple yet but they have previously admitted during a press conference of their movie that they are on an MU (“mutual understanding”) status which they confirmed again on The Buzz.

According to Kathryn and Daniel, they don’t even talk about it. “No. Isn’t it normal? Di naman kailangang official pag-usapan na kailangan MU tayong dalawa,” said Daniel. Kathryn puts her complete trust on Daniel that he will not hurt her.

In a previous interview in KrisTV, Karla Estrada, Daniel’s mom, said, “Mas gusto naman namin, Kathryn, DJ, anak, na kung kayo talaga (ang magkatuluyan), bakit hindi? Kaya lang, may mga bagay na hindi natin mahahawakan. So kung dumating iyong araw na kailangan ninyo nang maghiwalay (sa love team), kailangan handa ’yong puso ninyo para hindi kayo mapariwara o mapunta sa hindi tamang landas. So just be ready always.”

Kathryn’s Mommy Min is always with them when they go out on dates. She gave pieces of advice to her daughter, “Lagi kong sinasabi sa kanya dapat kung hindi niya mapipigilan ’yong love team nila, kung saan mapupunta iyan, sana at the right time, at the right age niya. Sana ngayon matuto siyang sumunod. Kasi nasa kanila iyon, sila din ang gagawa. Kahit anong sabihin nila, kung hindi sila susunod wala din. So kailangang i-manage nila kung anuman ang feelings nila na ’yan.”

Anyway, Daniel and Kathryn are still young and they have a whole lifetime ahead of them. They should enjoy the journey and not rush it. If they are really meant for each other, then it must be…love.

Kakai: I don’t care about what people say

“Mario Maurer and I are just friends,” declared Kakai Bautista in a phone interview with TV Patrol. “Nothing romantic. Kumalma silang lahat, may pag-asa pa kayong lahat, guys. Please don’t get mad at me. Kasi hindi ko rin naman kasalanan kung bakit kami naging magkaibigan. Mario is really kind and he will take care of you.”

Despite setting the record straight, the bashing has not stopped — some of which are merciless. She is also being accused of using the Thai heartthrob to gain publicity.

It all started when photos of Mario and Kakai enjoying friendly moments in Thailand went viral. Kakai and her friends recently went to Thailand where they met up with Mario and his manager. People became curious if they were dating. Incidentally, Mario and long-time girlfriend Gubgib Sumontip have broken up.

Mario and Kakai have become good friends after starring together in Star Cinema’s Suddenly It’s Magic.

In another interview, Kakai shared her feelings regarding the issue. “Minsan natatawa ako. Minsan nai-stress din ako kapag naiisip ko iyong mga ilusyonada. I don’t care about what people say. Ambisyosa, ilusyonada. I’m happy even if they keep on saying it. Wala silang magagawa kasi nandoon na iyon. But to say that I’m using Mario to be popular. Our friendship is not showbiz. It’s true friendship.”

Kakai values her friendship with Mario and she didn’t think they’ll become good friends. “Porke ba’t komedyante, chaka hindi na pwedeng magkaroon ng kaibigang international star?” She considers herself lucky for having Mario as a friend.

“His manager and brother have been very good to me. They appreciate and love me so I am very thankful. That’s why I am crying now kasi kahit anong sabihin ng mga tao, I am using him, nag-iilusyon ako sa friendship namin, I’m sorry. Gusto ko lang mag-sorry para sa inyo, para sa mga sarili ninyo. My Thai friends are very good to me. They are kind. I am so lucky to have them and I want to protect them. I hope (the bashing) will stop now because I want to protect my friends, especially Mario.”
