‘Celebrating’ first kiss

Unang halik or first kiss has been ‘celebrated’ on air and screen, via song and movie. Also in print.

The Caravana-Karasig Liwayway novel titled Unang Halik was made into a movie, starring American mestiza Corazon Rivas, Batangas actor Jose Romulo and comedian Lopito, circa 1955.

The sweet story was spiced with the song title Unang Halik, what else, and another ditty, Itlog (how unromantic). Plus, the dance steps Jump and Jive and Tinikling Moderne.

Introduced in Unang Halik was Cynthia Zamora, who later became one of Premiere’s drama stars. — RKC
