Rock’s rising stars

MANILA, Philippines - It is rare to find great talents gathered together but last Jan. 29 saw a rare moment as Jack Daniel’s JD Set Press Night had Rock god Jun Lupito, a mentor of the bands in the Jack Daniel’s JD Set Philippines, jamming with Mr. Bones & the Boneyard Circus, one of the three bands supported by Jack Daniels. 

The crowd at URBN Bar at the Fort Strip rocked to the music of the JD Set made up of Paramita, Mr. Bones and the Boneyard Circus and Kelevra.

Known for its enthusiasm for great musical talent, Jack Daniel’s has paved the way for some of our local artists to penetrate the international music scene. It has made possible a collaboration between Cynthia Alexander and Nyko Maca at the Hard Rock Café in Singapore, as well as a back-to-back concert featuring Urbandub and American band Good Charlotte.

Jack Daniel’s The JD Set Philippines nears its culmination with its final three indie bands: Kelevra, Paramita and Mr. Bones and the Boneyard Circus. The Chosen One will be announced during the upcoming event on March 8 at the Metrotent in Metrowalk and go on to represent the country in the Jack Daniel’s South East Asia Event in  Cambodia on April 5. 

The JD Set Press Night was held in anticipation of the actual culminating event in March where one of the Top 3 will be chosen as the sole representative of the country to the next JD Set Asia Pacific International event happening in Cambodia.
