Gerald unfazed by negative comments

DIRECT LINE - Boy Abunda - The Philippine Star

So Kim Chiu and Maja Salvador have unfollowed each other on the social networking site Instagram.

Gerald Anderson and Maja reportedly were seen together during the long holiday season at the classy Misibis Bay in Bicol. Some pictures circulated showing both Gerald and Maja having fun together. Some said they were photoshopped until it was confirmed by both Gerald and Maja that yes, they were in Misibis Bay.

But are they playing beautiful music together? And what’s the big fuss when both of them are single? And again, Kim’s name has been dragged into the fray.

At the recent press conference for Ina Kapatid Anak, Kim let out a big reveal that startled everyone.

“Hindi naman ako bitter kung ano man ang mangyari sa kanila. I’m happy for them. Nalungkot lang ako kasi ’yung taong sinabihan ko nung time na down ako, parang kinain niya ’yung sinabi niya,” said Kim. Maja was Kim’s best friend and confidante when the latter was struggling through her relationship with Gerald.

Kim apparently felt slighted. But she need not say anything, she said. The pictures were enough. And it has been three years since the break-up and happily, she has let go and moved on.

Maja, when asked as to whether Gerald is courting her, said, “Dapat si Gerald ang tanungin niyo.” But yes, she and Gerald were on the same plane to Misibis. And yes, Kim knew she was going to Misibis and that Gerald was going as well. Maja also invited Kim to Misibis where the bridal shower of her best cousin was held.

On The Buzz, Gerald, who is now at the center of things, said that he would love to court Maja if given the chance. He said that almost always his love life is blown out of proportion when written about.

“It’s been three years since Kim and I parted ways,” Gerald said. “I have never been happier for her, for all her successes and her blessings.”

Gerald is aware of how “sensitive” the situation is but believes, “magiging maayos din ito. Magiging maayos depende sa maturity ng bawat isa na kasama sa sitwasyon na ito.” He is unfazed by a comment made by Kim that goes: “I don’t care about them because Maja knows who Gerald is.”

“Lahat tayo may opinion, and that is our right. Karapatan natin ’yun kung ano ang gusto nating sabihin, kung ano ang gusto natin iparating sa tao. I know who I am. Every day of my life I try to be the best person that I can be. It’s her opinion at wala ako magagawa diyan,” said Gerald.

He also knows the negative comments hurled at him caused by the current controversy. “Sa mga bad and good comments, I love them all. But you know, there’s something for me, there’s something for them.”

Right now, Gerald just wants to be happy. “Sa lahat ng aspeto sa buhay. As a person, gusto ko lahat ng tao sa paligid ko masaya. I’ll do everything na mangyari ’yun at ginagawa ko rin ’yun sa mga taong ’di ko kilala. And that feeling is the best feeling in the world.”

And Gerald is bent on courting Maja. “Di po ako bata. I make decisions on my own, mali man ’yun o tama. At ’pag nahanap ko ’yung tunay na happiness, you forget about all the opinions of different people na hindi mo naman kilala and you just have to stay strong and pray.”

Didn’t he and Kim have closure? “Yes, we had (closure),” he shot back.

Three people, three voices and three sides of the story. What is the truth? Watch intently.

Mark’s nationwide tour for Casino Filipino

Valentine’s Day is still a month away but Casino Filipino is already in the mood for an early celebration of the love season this month with the nationwide concert tour of Mark Bautista.

Mark performs at the following Casino Filipino branches — Angeles, tomorrow, Jan. 18; Mactan, Jan. 19; Davao, Jan. 20; Airport Casino Filipino, Jan. 23; Mimosa, Jan. 25; Hyatt, Jan. 26; Olongapo, Jan. 30; and Ronquillo Arcade, Jan. 31.

Mark has been a familiar celebrity performer in various Casino Filipino events. He prepared something special for the casino guests and vowed to make his shows more fun and entertaining.

PAGCOR AVP for Entertainment Bong Quintana said that this is the sixth time that the state-owned gaming agency is staging a nationwide concert tour featuring a first-rate OPM performer. “Last year, the Casino Filipino National Tour presented high-profile local artists like Sitti, Ariel Rivera, Erik Santos, Rico Puno and Randy Santiago. Last year, it was also the turn of international hitmaker David Pomeranz to serenade our guests,” he added.

According to Quintana, the holding of these nationwide concert tours helps promote Casino Filipino further as a venue for top-rate entertainment events. “We have been working hard to improve our entertainment offerings. We want people to know that there is more than just casino gaming in Casino Filipino, that we also offer them a total entertainment package.”

Admission to Mark’s concert is free. For details on Mark Bautista National Tour 2013 and other entertainment offerings of Casino Filipino, call PAGCOR’s Entertainment Department at (02) 852-7752 to 60.
