Thy Womb holds fans day at Sky Dome

MANILA, Philippines - Admirers of Nora Aunor and director Brillante Mendoza had an early Christmas treat, thanks to the Thy Womb Fans Day at the Sky Dome in SM City North EDSA. The fun-filled event attended by close to a thousand fans was held in time for the opening of the film last Christmas Day as part of the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

Thy Womb, topbilled by Nora and helmed by 2009 Cannes Best Director Brillante, has already received prestigious awards from filmfests around the world. On the sidelines of the 69th Venice International Film Festival, the film won the La Navicella/Venezia Cinema Prize, P. Nazareno Taddei Award (Special Mention) and Bisato d’ Oro Award for Nora. More recently, direk Brillante won Best Director while Nora was Best Actress at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards in Brisbane, Australia. The film also participated at the Toronto International Film Festival 2012, the Busan International Film Festival 2012 and the Dubai International Film Festival 2012.

Film enthusiasts were excited to meet the Thy Womb team who had brought honor to the country.

Thy Womb is now showing at SM Cinemas nationwide.
