Beauty is a family affair

MANILA, Philippines -  After being at the helm of her eponymous Aesthetic Center for more than 30 years, Ellen Lising is ready to delegate her business to her daughters Jessel, 30, and Janice, 31, who are well-equipped for the job.

Jessel studied at the Redondo Beach Beauty College in Los Angeles, and Janice at the Marinello School of Beauty in Burbank, also in California.

“I’m not planning to retire yet,” said Ellen. “I’ll still be around to guide them. My daughters do the research for me. They check on what’s new in skin care, what the new beauty technology is, the new machines, and what new products are available in the market.”

Admitting that the beauty business is very competitive, Ellen added that there’s no time or reason to be complacent.

“Otherwise,” she said, “you will be left behind.”

In 2013, Ellen is set on improving her center’s current services, among them the Jet Peel which infuses oxygen into the deep dermis of the skin to revitalize the cells.

“It’s one of the favorite treatments of my clients, especially the celebrities, because they will notice the improvement immediately.”

Also to be launched next year is a one-of-a-kind skin-lightening product that is infused with potent skin-hydrating and moisturizing properties — “Perfect for women at their prime who have dry skin,” said Ellen.
