Nun-turned-teacher in Bottomline

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - In celebration of the third anniversary of The Bottomline With Boy Abunda, 2012 PMPC Best Public Affairs, host Boy Abunda climbs Mt. Galalan in Pangil, Laguna on Saturday, Dec. 1, as he visits Teacher Filipina Ginete, a former nun who has been climbing the mountain for 15 years to teach public school children who did not have the opportunity to study in the city. Discover the pains and joys that Teacher Ginete had to go through to fulfill her mission after she left the congregation twice for her personal mission. What is the best part about teaching? Why did she turn her back from her religious life to be an educator? Amid her struggles in climbing a mountain for her beloved profession, did Teacher Ginete ever dream of having her own family? The Bottomline With Boy Abunda airs 11:30 p.m., after Banana Split on ABS-CBN.
