Worldwide release for Zeppelin’s reunion concert
MANILA, Philippines - The grand “reunion concert†of Led Zeppelin, staged in 2007 with the three surviving members on board, is now in DVD and CD and seeing worldwide release today.
The occasion dubbed Celebration Day was a tribute concert to dear friend and Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun held at the London’s O2 Arena that saw bassist John Paul Jones, guitarist Jimmy Page and singer Robert Plant perform together with drummer Jason Bonham, son of the late John Bonham.
Although 20 million people applied for tickets, the band’s momentous show in 27 years was seen only by the 18,000 ticket holders who were fortunate enough to have secured seats through the worldwide lottery.
A Swan Song/Atlantic Records release distributed locally by Warner Music Philippines, the 16-song Celebration Day repertoire included Good Times Bad Times, The Song Remains The Same, Kashmir, Whole Lotta Love, Black Dog and the band’s signature piece Stairway To Heaven.
Bonham died in September, 1980 and the group officially disbanded December of the same year.
