Lee: Go ahead, express yourself

MANILA, Philippines - This is not about being wild or controversial. It’s about being multi-faceted and versatile — expressing different dimensions.

Lee Jeans presents its Holiday 2012 collection with a mood that’s decadently dark — grounded in a sleek finish that’s as black as sin. Night Skins by Lee is a seven-piece collection range that showcases the denim brand’s expertise on directional washing and finishing. Textured trousers that are longer, leaner, darker — leg attitude that defines the nocturnal creature in you.

For the Lee Night Skin woman, tubular jeans are coated with a metallic polish, while black leather glossiness suggests a play on fantasies — from kitten, rebel, vixen to dominatrix. Take your pick from the four styles: Neon doll, wild ones, black cats and night owls.

The Lee Night Skin man, on the other hand, leaves a trail of midnight jet coolness. Damaged, destroyed and repaired, finishes are love-worn to perfection. A combination of unapologetic-ness infused with danger, pieces reflect the excitement of night: Blackout, dark knight and club rats.

With the design capsule as a platform to take off from, Lee Jeans takes it a step further by reworking the Night Skins into future fierce. Students from the five disciplines of contemporary fashion — design, photography, multi-media, styling and modeling — merge from a nationwide call to creative arms.

Ateneo de Manila University, Centro Escolar University, College of St. Benilde, Far Eastern University, Mapua Institute of Technology, SoFA, University of the Philippines, University of San Carlos in Cebu and University of Santo Tomas will take over the catwalk in a fashion showdown.

Sixty new looks, 25 students, eight universities and a celebrity cast led by Andi Eigenmann and JC Tiuseco. Catch the show on Oct. 26 at the Mall of Asia Atrium during the Philippine Fashion Week.
