What Men Think Women Want

Over my many experiences with all sorts of ladies, one of my favorite realizations is admitting that I don’t really know what they all want. I can pretend to say that they’d like this or that but it will never hold true for every single woman in the world. Basically, it is impossible to generalize what women want. There is no sure-fire gift or characteristic that will have every woman woman fall head over heels in love with us guys.

With that, I also have to say that we, guys, always do try! We try to think of what women could possibly want. We all have different opinions that have been shaped by our experiences but one way or another, we say them probably because they’ve worked to some extent. It’s pretty interesting to see how guys have so many different opinions as to what women may want. On that note, here is a list of what I think women want and what guys from the recently concluded bachelor bash think as well!

Geeks - I think women like geeky guys. Gone are the days when the ultra buff, Arnold Schwarzenegger types are the only ones who have the girls ooohhh-ing and ahhh-ing. Yes, I love video games, I love reading up on stuff in the internet and I will occasionally use my awesome Google skills to learn more about the girl I like. Yes, I am a geek and I think it has it’s own advantages with the ladies.

Example: Instead of wearing the police outfit in the Bachelor Bash, I opted to use my own outfit which represented my personality (Longsleeves, tie and glasses). It was a risk that I think paid off. The crowd seemed to enjoy it and that says a lot considering I walked down the ramp fully geeked-up.

Gentlemen - Women always want a gentleman. Regardless if you are a jock, nerd, pilot, wrestler, bum or whatever, there is never an excuse to exclude chivalry. It is not dead, my friends! Even just the small things such as opening the door, letting them go ahead, or giving that extra effort to make them feel pampered goes a long way! I agree that men and women are equal but being a gentlemen can breakthrough most women’s defense??

Example: I’ve always made it a point to support my date when they get in or out of the car, when they take a seat when they are walking down the stairs, etc. It may not be the reason they like me but it shows that I’m willing do a little extra for them. I feel like it matters.. J

Surprises - You know that feeling when things are happening and it’s as if your life is a movie? Well, who wouldn’t fall for that?! Girls like being surprised! They like knowing that there are guys willing to put in some good old hardwork to take care of them. Besides, I think being surprised makes people feel really special and that anybody can fall for that. I’m getting cheesy but that’s how I am and these are all based on my own experiences anyway.

Example: I surprised a girl with a mini-scavenger hunt. From the moment she woke up, there were clues all around her house that led to gifts throughout the day. We may not have ended up together but she always tells me how it was such a memorable gift! (Big-time pogi points!)

Food - I’ve heard stories that there are some ladies out there who just do not enjoy food. I can accept that but from my experience, I haven’t met one yet! Plus, I think food is as much a way to a man’s heart as it is to a woman’s. Try cooking them something and even if it sucks, the outcome usually turns into something memorable.

Example: I hyped up a home-cooked meal for a date and she probably expected really classy food. But all I could confidently conjure up was some caramelized Spam, fluffy scrambled eggs and some well-cooked rice! She laughed when she saw the food but we eventually enjoyed the night and she SAID, she liked my cooking! (…even if it was just spam and eggs)

My experiences aside, I rounded up some of my fellow Bachelors and asked them to give me a preview of what they think girls want!

Alden Richards:

I think women want attention. I say that because that’s what they seek for guys. Also, for me, it’s the basic foundation of any relationship aside from trust.

Fabio Ide:

Women want to be taken care of no matter what. They want to be pretty all the time. They also like bags and shoes.

Rocco Nacino:

Bags!!! My goodness, girls and their bags… Some of the are almost half a million Pesos and they still buy them!

Pancho Magno:

Everything!!!

Overall, I think all the opinions I’ve discovered and shared are interesting. I really can’t argue with any of them because it’s all based on their experiences. The clincher is the fact that there is no singular object that can please every woman. At the end of the day, that keeps us guys on our toes. It makes for much more exciting relationships, right?
