Nancy Kwan in Filipino action flick

REMEMBER WHEN? - The Philippine Star

Nancy Kwan of The World of Suzie Wong fame starred in a 1975 Filipino movie, Fortress in the Sun, opposite Tony Ferrer and Fred Galang. The hard-action picture was directed by George Rowe and produced by Jesse Chua under the banner of Mirick Films Int’l.

Kwan plays the love interest of Tony, but off-cam it was rumored that Fred won the heart of the Hong Kong-based Hollywood actress. Her film credits include Flower Drum Song, Fate is the Hunter and Tamahine.

Co-starring are Chanda Romero, Ruel Vernal, Mel Francisco and Eddie Garcia, as the evil don who ruled Tierra del Fuego with ruthless cruelty. Tony and Fred, with the help of Nancy playing a brave Filipina, restored peace and harmony in the so-called Fortress in the Sun. — RKC
