Patrol ng Pilipino tackles plastic use

- The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - ABS-CBN news reporter Jing Castañeda will examine the recently implemented ordinance in Quezon City that regulates the use of plastic bags in stores, markets and business establishments tonight in Patrol ng Pilipino.

The local government of QC saw the need to enforce the ordinance following the widespread flooding in the metro due to Typhoon Ondoy and the rains brought by the monsoon winds. Non-biodegradable garbage like plastic materials are said to be the main cause of clogged drains and sewers that lead to floods.

Patrol ng Pilipino will also weigh in on the issue by airing the side of plastic bag manufacturers and QC chief of staff Aldrin Cuñat.

Meanwhile, Maan Macapagal will probe the recent robbery incidents in Metro Manila that were caught on CCTV. What have the police done to solve and reduce robbery cases? Also catch safety and self-defense measures drawn on the testimonies of robbery victims to be featured in the episode.Patrol ng Pilipino airs after Bandila.
