Shaina: I'm a lot wiser now

DIRECT LINE - Boy Abunda - The Philippine Star

Shaina Magdayao is sporting a new hairstyle. Her locks are shorter now with highlights. Shaina exudes beauty. People are asking now if the change in hairstyle has something to do with her break-up with John Lloyd Cruz.  “I don’t think so. Siguro nag-apply yon sa iba but in my case, I need the makeover for a role. This is the first time na nagpa-highlight ako,” explained Shaina.

Shaina is not crying over spilt milk. “I am happy with all the blessings I am receiving. My work, my show is doing well. And I am blessed with good friends and a supportive family. Maybe, I am looking forward to the new Shaina — a lot wiser. I am learning so much about life.”

The new Shaina is “wiser and more experienced.” “Gusto ko lahat ng natutunan ko sa buhay, I will keep them as learnings till I learn from them. I will treasure them and start moving on with my life, with my new life.”

She remains positive that everything that happened to her was for a reason.  “I learned so much from what I went through. And one thing for sure, sa dami ng pinagdaanan ko, I always pray and I always say na I am never bitter about life. I always believe in God’s purpose. Ano pa ba ang hihingin ko? I have good friends. I have a supportive family. I am just happy maraming nakaka-appreciate sa akin. So wala na akong mahihiling pa at this point in time.”

Her erstwhile boyfriend John Lloyd Cruz is also moving on and is said  to be playing beautiful music with Angelica Panganiban. Angelica and John Lloyd recently titillated the public’s imagination when a picture captioned Perfect Sunday surfaced in the Instagram account of Angelica.

In a recent meet-up with the press, Angelica was forthright when she said, “Perfect. Parang Perfect Sunday,”  when asked about the current status of her heart.

She also admitted that it was, indeed, John Lloyd who posted that Perfect Sunday photo on her Instagram account. But she would not divulge where it was taken. In time, darating tayo diyan. When I decide at kapag bumait akong mag salita, at i-share sa inyo ano man yong nararamdaman ko, I will be very proud to do it. In the meantime, hayaan niyo muna akong ganito.”

Angelica is not inclined to compare her days then and now. “The thing is I feel its becoming a beautiful day everyday. I can feel it within myself because I have found that it is what I want to achieve — ’yung panahon para sa sarili ko ’yung alagaan ko ang sarili ko, at pagandahin ang sarili ko.

When asked how does one become happy, Angelica explained, “Love yourself.

Rumored boyfriend John Lloyd is starring in a movie with Bea Alonzo billed The Mistress, a Star Cinema offering directed by Olive Lamasan. It is his and Bea’s 10th anniversary as a tandem. It is Bea’s most daring role to date. Bea plays the mistress of a married man Ronaldo Valdez who once played his father in Betty La Fea. What convinced Bea to accept the role? “Siguro tama ang sinasabi nila Inang (Direk Olive) at some point, every actress would feel na mayroon na siyang hunger or thirst for a more challenging role.

Bea who is going steady with Zanjoe Marudo, admitted that at one point,  “Muntik ng mahulog ang loob ko kay John Lloyd.”  “We were very young at kilig kilig diyan. Looking back now, Bea said, maybe she and John Lloyd are not meant for each other.

The Mistress also stars the brilliant and beautiful Hilda Koronel.
