Circus divas show Sept. 28
MANILA, Philippines - In the ’70s, one legendary band wowed its audiences, not only with great music, but with the individuality and outlandishness of each band member. This was the Circus Band, the only group that had the unique combination of excellent soloists coming together in harmony and performing as one in a series of groovy repertoire.
The original members, who eventually pursued successful individual careers, were Jacqui Magno, Pat Castillo, Tillie Moreno, Ann Marie Santos (later on replaced by Ceres Jacinto), Basil Valdez, Hajji Alejandro, Pabs Dadivas and Richard Tann. Backing them up then were highly respected musicians: Rudy Lozano, Walter Calinawan, Gerry Paraiso, Paco Gamboa and Boy Katindig.
Now a vocal reunion like no other is about to happen as three iconic songstresses of the Circus Band — Jacqui, Pat and Tillie — reunite in an unprecedented vocal concert dubbed The Circus Divas, mounted by Banana 3 Productions.
The reunion is a benefit show for the victims of the recent habagat. It also raises funds for the medical treatment of an ailing friend. It will be held on Sept. 28, 8:30 p.m. at the Teatrino, The Promenade Greenhills.
Fans of The Circus Band are invited to be a part of an unforgettable night with the three divas. The power-packed combination promises to wow the audience once more through songs that will bring back memories of the good old days — songs that will keep everyone on their feet dancin’ and rockin’.
