Flood-resistant housing in Krusada

MANILA, Philippines - Julius Babao (photo) will examine the feasibility of conventionalizing stilt houses in the Philippines to prevent the risks of flooding tonight on ABS-CBN’s Krusada after Bandila.

Experts have noted that in order to avoid severe flooding disasters, the architectural structure of houses in the country must be adjusted or changed to suit the conditions in the typhoon-prone Philippines.

Julius will deliberate the building costs, and the practicality of the recommended house design reminiscent of the quintessential nipa hut, which is raised up and built on stilts.

The house design is also proposed not only in the construction of private homes but also in relocation sites and danger zones.
