Charito Solis turns 'action star'

The great dramatic actress Charito Solis turned ‘action star’ of sorts in 1970 Nepomuceno Productions movie The Hunted. Ms. Solis starts as an innocent girl in The Hunted, but turns into a fighter to survive in the jungle.

Written and directed by Cesar J. Amigo, The Hunted co-starred Fred Galang, Alan Martel and Mario Monte (as billed, actually Montenegro).

In the late ‘60s and early ‘70s, Ms. Solis reigned as ‘Nepomuceno queen.’ Her other films with the studio include Dahil sa Isang Bulaklak, Ang Pulubi, Igorota, Langit sa Lupa, Manila: Open City. — RKC
