Moon Embracing the Sun preems tonight

MANILA, Philippines - GMA 7 airs another heartwarming Asianovela that will keep Kapuso viewers glued to their TV sets with the premiere of Moon Embracing the Sun. It will air before 24 Oras beginning tonight on GMA K Prime.

Moon Embracing the Sun is said to be the highest-rated drama of the year which won the coveted Best Drama and Best Actor at the recently-concluded 48th Baeksang Awards in Korea. The series is topbilled by Kim Soo Hyun and Han Ga In as Lee Hwon and Yeon Woo/Wol, respectively.

Moon Embracing the Sun is a historical-fantasy love story between a king and his beloved crown princess whom he thought has died but has come back as a shaman, an individual who uses magic to cure illnesses and to control events.

Lee Hwon is destined to be the first Sun or King of Joseon and he experiences love for the first time when he meets Yeon Woo, who is destined to be the first Moon or Queen of Joseon. But Yeon Woo mysteriously fell ill and passed away a few days before their royal wedding ceremony. Just when she was believed to be dead, she was saved by Jang Nok Young, the head shaman.

Eight years later, Lee Hwon becomes the king who hardly smiles. One day, he encounters a shaman who resembles Yeon Woo and he named her Wol. Because of Wol’s similarities from Lee Hwon’s first love, he starts to have doubts on Yeon Woo’s death and decides to investigate further.
