World's No. 1 DJ will rock Manila 10.10.12

FUNFARE - Ricky Lo - The Philippine Star

BREAKING NEWS!

Get set for what is touted as “the best dance party ever” when David Guetta, considered as the world’s No. 1 deejay, raises Electronic Dance Music to another level while sharing his music and passion with party-goers.

The event will happen on Oct. 10, 2012, at the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena.

Guetta is credited for “crossing countless club records over” and helping make dance music as big as it is today. He changed the sound of (dance) music in the USA. Titanium, his recent multi-platinum hit (No. 1 in UK) featuring Sia, has become the longest-charting dance hit single since Michael Jackson’s Thriller.

This Grammy-winning artist and producer, whose first major hit came over a decade ago, now boasts of an endless list of chart-topping hits and has produced five studio albums. His album Nothing But the Beat is also a certified seven-time-platinum worldwide. It features collaborations with will.i.am, Usher, Nicki Minaj, Flo Rida, Taio Cruz, Jessie J, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Chris Brown, Akon, Rihanna, rapper Kid Cudi and other top artists.

Guetta has headlined some of the world’s premier music festivals such as California’s Coachella Music Festival, the Electric Daisy Carnival and Electric Zoo in Las Vegas and New York, Creamfields in UK/Argentina and Belgium’s Tomorrowland.

Those behind Music Management, Inc. (MMI), the show’s producer, said that they want to share with Manila the same dance experience as that in international festivals. MMI will also announce in the coming weeks the participation of other international DJs.

“As I said,” added an MMI executive, “this will indeed be the biggest dance party ever to be held in Manila. Promise!”

(David Guetta 10.10.12 is presented by MMI, in cooperation with AEDI, Saga Events, Fox and Starworld, with special thanks to The Philippine STAR, Yahoo Phils, Circuit Magazine and MMIlive. Limited tickets are priced at P7500, P5000, and P3000, available on the SM Ticketing website [www.SMTickets.com] and all SM Ticketing outlets. When the Eat, Bulaga! bible was turned over to the Indonesian group, with Eat, Bulaga! big boss Tony Tuviera (seated, rightmost), Bulaga! COO Malou Choa-Fagar (left) and Harsiwi Achmad (head of the Indonesia network), together with some of the hosts from both networks.

Eat, Bulaga! scores a ‘first’

For more than 30 years the top-rating GMA noontime show Eat, Bulaga! has been mercilessly knocking down any (nay, all!) shows that dare air on the same timeslot. The good news is that Bulaga! has written “history” by being the first Filipino TV show to be franchised internationally — that is, by a network in Indonesia.

Watch today’s edition of Bulaga! which will reveal how the whole thing was made possible, complete with clips/excerpts from its Indonesian version.

“It took more than seven years to finalize the deal,” said Bulaga! COO & VP for Production. “During those years, an executive of the network, who was then with another company, religiously watched the show every day. It was only when the executive moved to SCTV that the deal was finalized.”

The original Eat, Bulaga! Dabarkads, led by Tito, Vic and Joey.

Of course, through Pinoy TV, GMA’s international network, Bulaga! can be seen in Filipino communities worldwide but mostly replays (delayed telecast). This time, it’s different.

“Eat, Bulaga! Indonesia features the same segments, such as Pinoy Henyo and Juan For All/All For Juan,” said Malou. “It even has counterparts of Bulaga! Manila. Mayroon din silang Tito, Vic & Joey and the rest of the hosts. Pati mga damit nila are like the ones (usually casuals, mostly walking shorts) worn by Wally Bayola, Jose Manalo and Paolo Ballesteros during their remote coverage of Juan For All.”

Jessica Soho will air a first-person account on her show Kapuso Mo tonight. Jessica went to Jakarta to personally witness the first week of the Eat, Bulaga! Indonesia airing.”

Malou said that the pilot shows got very good ratings.

“We expect the rating to go higher in the coming days,” she assured.
