ABS-CBN launches Ligtas Pinas drive

- The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - An internal campaign spearheaded by ABS-CBN Physical Security called Ligtas Pinas will be launched nationwide through seminars and workshops on disaster preparedness.

The campaign is divided into a three-part series on the three most common disasters that strike the country: Typhoon, earthquake and fire. It insists on the importance of one’s knowledge on basic survival skills, emphasizing on the fact that in times of disaster, your chances of survival is primarily up to you and what you know.

During a workshop headed by Martin Aguda on disaster preparedness, VP for Regional Network Group Jerry Bennet was inspired to take the campaign to the regional audience as these were the areas recently hit with catastrophes. Accordingly, segments on disaster preparedness in TV Patrol were produced.

The Philippines is a disaster-prone country. Therefore, basic survival skills should be second nature to us during typhoons, earthquakes, and other catastrophes. Sadly, casualties continue to increase in number when disaster occurs due to lack of knowledge, skills and right preparation.

In time for the Disaster Awareness Month in the Philippines this month, the Ligtas Pinas campaign will soon roll-out.  Directed by in-house directors, Paolo Ramos and Eric Po, the Ligtas Pinas series was produced by Carla Payongayong, Cidge Laxamana, and Christian Abuel of CCM RNG together with production supervisor Jaime Porca, post-production specialist Teters Enrique and motion graphic artist Karlo Victoriano. The said campaign is under the supervision of creative account manager Tina Barbin and CCM VP Robert Labayen.
