Derek Lorenzo shares celebrity spotlight

MANILA, Philippines - Stars came in full force when Yahoo! mounted its first-ever OMG Awards last July 6 at the SM Arena.

Hosted by Solenn Heussaff, Isabelle Daza and Raymond Gutierrez, OMG Awards became the hottest event monitored by millions when it happened. The hottest names in showbiz added glitter and glamour to the event.

But the merriest of them all was Derek Lorenzo, PLDT MyDSL’s sensation via Anna Banana video which generated over a million hits and trended for days.

Derek presented OMG Awards’ Child Star of the Year Award and awarded the trophy to Xyriel Manabat.

Being a kid celebrity himself with over 1.6 million views for his Anna Banana PLDT MyDSL YouTube channel, it was fitting that Derek be the one chosen to award this year’s winner in that category. 

The young man took the opportunity to thank his parents during the occasion recognizing the success he has been enjoying.

Derek said, “My family’s support is proof that the strongest connections can make any kid’s dream come true.”
