Maalaala Mo Kaya tackles teenage rape

MANILA, Philippines - ABS-CBN was finally given the go-signal by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) to air the controversial Maalaala Mo Kaya episode that deals with the story of a teenage girl who was repeatedly raped, once even at the sight of her own mother. The episode will air tomorrow night, June 30.

From the previously obtained X-rating, the Cursed Beauty episode was granted by the MTRCB with a rating of SPG (Strong Parental Guidance). The rating was given to the show after being thoroughly reviewed by the agency since its June 2 airing was postponed.

Former Goin’ Bulilit child star Jane Oineza portrays the 15-year-old girl named Nene who was recurrently raped by her stepfather.

Also in the cast are Angel Aquino, Carlos Morales, RS Francisco, Vangie Labalan and Ana Abad Santos, etc.
