Celebrities & Nokia light up the night

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Lumianation, Nokia’s grand launch for the much-awaited range of Lumia smartphones, glimmered with bright, colorful lights as showbiz celebrities and personalities were seen at the fun-filled gathering.

Only for the Nokia Lumia smartphones, Nokia put together an amazing, club-themed event that is truly deserved by the multi-awarded phones. The Bonifacio Global City Central grounds were transformed into an area filled with catchy colors of Nokia Lumia, game and activity booths and free-flowing food and cocktails. The event also turned out to be well-attended not only by Nokianatics and curious consumers, but also by several celebrities and TV personalities.

Hosted by Kat Alano, the program kicked off with a dance number from streetdance performers grooving to the remix of the iconic Nokia ringtone. Afterwards, DJ Nina Saputil’s music filled the air and sent everyone hip-hopping to the beat.

International club masters Jump Smokers also added more life to the party with their dance anthems. Dubbed as the “Kings of the Dancefloor,” Roman and DJ Flipside, a full-blooded Filipino, blew everyone away with their record-breaking remixes of popular songs such as Pitbull’s Give Me Everything and Katy Perry’s Firework.

Among the stars spotted having fun during the launch were Robi Domingo, Megan Young, Onemig Bondoc and wife Valerie Bariou-Bondoc, Rosebud Benitez and Brent Javier. Others who made the event even more lustrous include Kelly Misa, Wacky Valdez, Issa Litton, Marco Lobregat, Alyanna Martinez and Ram de Vera.

One of the night’s highlights was the amazing 15-minute 3D-mapping of a building, which took the guests to a trip down Nokia’s memory lane. The grand light show featured the history and evolution of Nokia phones. At the end, the video introduced the real stars of the night — the amazing Nokia Lumia 610, Lumia 710, Lumia 800 and Lumia 900 smartphones, which the guests were also able to experience during the party.

The crowd also cheered when Nokia Philippines GM and head of sales Dharmesh Goshalia announced that Nokia Lumia 900, the top-of-the-line Windows phone to date, is set to come to the Philippines this month.

Several units of Nokia Lumia 610, 710, 800 and 900 were also raffled off to lucky guests.
