World theater congress in Belarus

MANILA, Philippines - Theater, TV and film director-actor Nick Lizaso will attend the IX World Theater Congress of the International University Theater Association (IUTA/AITU) where he has been invited in his capacity as a member of the IUTA Board of Trustees. Bannered by the Congress theme, Traditions; Research; Experimentation — The Essential Elements of Contemporary University Theatre, the Congress will be held from July 2 to 6 in Minsk City, Belarus.

Lizaso will lead the Filipino delegation composed of members of the Tanghalang Ateneo with director Ricky Abad who will stage the play Sintang Dalisay (Pure Love) during the Theater Congress.

While in Minsk, Lizaso will meet his peers to take up business matters related to the organization. He will also explore with them the possibility of holding the XI IUTA Congress in Manila in 2014 after Bogota, Colombia.
