Helen of Joy

Manila, Philippines -  When Helen Gamboa celebrated her birthday recently, her heart was full of joy not only because her estranged niece Sharon Cuneta personally called to give her a reconciliatory greeting (Sharon was out of the country and wasn’t able to attend the dinner) but also because her family and close friends were all accounted for at her party.

 “Yes,” Helen confirmed, “Sharon and I have ironed out our differences but we still have to meet.”

Helen has just checked out of the hospital yesterday after a two-day confinement due to exhaustion and dehydration.

“Our taping for Walang Hanggan is very hectic,” said Helen, referring to her top-rating (45-plus percent audience share so far) ABS-CBN soap with, among others, Susan Roces and Dawn Zulueta. “It’s tiring but worth it.”
