Coolest schools in movies
MANILA, Philippines - It’s June and, yes, school has already started. Students are once again busy with homework, tests, projects and of course having fun. Going to school is one of the best things that one can experience. Lots of memories, both good and the not so good, are made during this period that is why people always have a special bond with their alma mater. Talking about schools, there are several movies that have actually featured schools that viewers would wish were real. Which ones are they? Find out in this list of coolest schools in movies:
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry (Harry Potter). Students at Hogwarts learn stuff regular students don’t get to learn. They memorize spells, make sure that they use their wands right and see to it that they stay on the good side. Unless you have that gift, it’s impossible to enroll here. Well, hope Hogwarts is open to field trips then.
East High School (High School Musical). This is the right school for aspiring singers; No, not because it’s a music school. East High School is your regular high school with talented students. They sing just about anything that goes on in school. So if singing is your thing then East High School is definitely for you. Who wouldn’t want to sing alongside Troy, Gabriella and the others?
Grover High School (The Princess Diaries). How about a princess for a schoolmate? That would be really cool. For those who don’t know, this is the school where Princess Mia graduated high school. Surely, Grover High School is proud and honored by this. Just wondering if they increase their tuition after knowing that a royalty studies in their school?
Horace Green (School of Rock). If you’re a fan of rock music, then come to Horace Green where your teacher is a true rock star. Mr. Dewey Finn, a former rock band member, is kicked out of his band so he needs to look for another source of income. He finds a job as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. Not having any teaching experience, he just decided to turn his class into a rock band — seems to work anyway.
Wellman College (Nutty Professor). If you’re a Science freak then Wellman College would fit you perfectly, just make sure that you get to be in Professor Klump’s class or at least meet him. He is a genius and kind-hearted teacher who is such a good model to his students. Although many make fun of him because of his size, his personality always stands out. Just make sure that when you’re with him, “Buddy Love” is not in him.
Welton Academy (Dead Poets Society). The best teacher is the one who inspires his students. Mr. John Keating is a one-of-a-kind professor at Welton Academy. His non-traditional techniques make him stand out. If every school would have a teacher like that, then expect a bunch of inspired students to come.
Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters (X-Men). Unless you are a mutant, you won’t be able to get in to this school. However, it would be nice if you could go in and see the gifted students learning their skills. Plus, you can meet Professor X and the rest of the X-Men team. Just be careful not to make them mad.
St. Francis School (Sister Act 2). Choral class will never be boring if Dolores is your instructor. She’s cool, not a hypocrite, caring and has music in her heart. No wonder students from St. Francis School suddenly change when Dolores has started teaching them.
Wellesley College (Mona Lisa Smile). This college is a conservative women’s college which is about to change. Professor Watson teaches Art History but decides that her students need to learn more than just art. She then starts to encourage them to live their life to the fullest and to go after their dreams.
Imperial College of Engineering (3 idiots). The best thing about this college is that just being a student here means that you’re one of the best, simply, because they only accept the best applicants — one of them is Rancho. He is a genius, a humble, a true friend and a kind-hearted person who makes everybody crazy but makes sense anyway. It would definitely be an amazing college life if there’s a Rancho in every batch.
