Atom visits North Korea for Patrol ng Pilipino

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - ABS-CBN news reporter Atom Araullo will deliver an exclusive peek of the people and culture of the reclusive North Korea in a documentary he shot with his own camera to be shown tonight in Patrol ng Pilipino.

Atom was one of the fortunate journalists who were invited to the 100th birthday celebration of the nation’s first president, the late Kim Il Sung. The invitation was uncommon of North Korea, which is known for isolating itself from other countries.

“I know many people are interested in how North Koreans live because only so little information comes from the nation. I came there by myself, so it was difficult being a cameraman, host and researcher at the same time. However, it was a rare opportunity that I will not forget,” said Atom.

Meanwhile, Jenny Ramos (photo) will report on the latest updates on the brawl among journalist Mon Tulfo, Raymart Santiago and wife Claudine Barretto and assess how both parties have used the media to air their side of the story.

The journalist and the couple have released opposing statements, but who is telling the truth? Who started the scuffle?

Patrol ng Pilipino airs after Bandila on ABS-CBN.
